Why was DAU renamed?

Miba strives to develop and produce technologies along the entire energy value chain. Miba wants to be a solution provider for customers' technological challenges - for the sustainable generation, transmission, storage and use of energy.

The standardization of the brand plays a decisive role in this. A large number of brands, including DAU, stood in the way of this because of their company name. They are all part of the Miba Group, but this was not immediately obvious from the name.

This strategic orientation and Miba's extensive know-how should be clearly recognizable - for customers, potential employees, research partners, suppliers and the public.
 

What will change for DAU?

From June 2024, DAU will operate as part of the unified Miba brand, now under the name Miba Cooling Austria. 

This step also affects other companies in our Power Electronics Division: 

• also from June, EBG will operate under the name Miba Resistors Austria. 
• in April 2024, the power electronics plant EDMS in Slovenia will be renamed Miba Electronics Slovenia. 
   

What are the advantages?

The new company names will enable DAU, EDMS and EBG to benefit from the appeal of the Miba brand:

• Miba represents an internationally operating and financially extremely stable innovation leader that has been successful for almost 100 years.
• With over 420 registered patents, Miba is one of the top 3 companies in Austria with the most new patent applications per year. Miba has even been the patent leader in Upper Austria for many years.
• As a highly professional, globally active organization, Miba employs more than 7,600 people at 30 production sites.

The unified brand presence makes it clear to the outside world that the Power Electronics divisions, including DAU, belong to the Miba brand. This allows everyone to benefit from the associated expertise. 
Miba has been an established brand in the automotive and mobility industry for decades, which benefits the Power Electronics Division.

The renaming of DAU to Miba Cooling Austria marks the beginning of a new era. 
This focus on a uniform brand has numerous advantages, strengthens the affiliation with the Miba Group and optimally positions the Power Electronics Division for future challenges and opportunities.
